Firmware/Hardware Engineer (multiple levels) - Cork, Ireland

Role Overview

We are seeking candidates with experience in firmware development and hardware platform (i.e. Printed Circuit Board) rework to support our hardware penetration testing lab in Cork, Ireland. The Cork site is a home to a range of digital IP teams working on cutting edge IP for the latest Snapdragon chip sets. Successful candidates will join a vibrant hardware security lab team, collaborating closely with several Qualcomm security labs worldwide.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and at least 4+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience; or a Master's degree and 3+ years; or a PhD and 2+ years.
• Experience in firmware/low-level programming.
• Experience in C/C++ and ARM assembly.
• Knowledge in ARM architecture.
• Experience in scripting and automation: python and shell.
• Experience in lab equipment and hardware debugging tools.
• Experience in PCB rework using soldering stations.
• Collaborative problem solver across HW/SW cross functional teams.
• Good communication skills, curiosity and enthusiasm, ability to work independently and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in advanced PCB rework stations.
• Knowledge in RISC V architecture and assembly.
• Knowledge in cryptography and security related topics (e.g., key management and authentication).
