Financial Trustee for charity for Hackney young people

Summer Hype's mission is to catalyse the futures of Hackney's young people through transformative residential peer-led youth camps.We seek a trustee with specific financial skills and experience to add to our board of trustees.

We seek to add a Financial Trustee who can contribute, in particular, to the financial governance of the charity, and to planning for the long term financial sustainability of Summer Hype as we enter this exiting new phase.We are a dynamic, hands-on board who are committed to the future of Summer Hype and are seeking someone who will be an enthusiastic and active part of this very special community.

The role:

As well as the usual trustee duties, we would in particular like the Financial Trustee to:

• Keep on top of book keeping and report an update on the accounts at each board meeting
• Put together annual accounts to send to our external accountant for review before uploading to Charity Commission website
• To advise on the existing Donations Policy - including updates required and procedures required to ensure compliance
• To ensure due diligence is performed and records kept for donations over the threshold set by policies
• Liaise with our volunteer Fundraising Officer in order to feed into fundraising strategy (particularly re grant applications)
