Job Description

The Role:

We are looking for a Financial Planning & Project Manager to lead our important forecasting, planning & project delivery activities. This role, reporting to the Head of Finance, is where the successful candidate can build and tailor the responsibilities of the role whilst adding value to the business.

Key Responsibilities will include:

You will lead financial budgeting, planning, and forecasting for the Catapult, providing accurate, relevant, and timely supporting analysis and commentary including preparation of presentationsto the Main Board and Executive Management Team.

Lead the preparation of the Catapult 5-year financial plan and year 1 annual budget

Lead development of medium / long-term cash flow modelling

Lead the successful financial delivery of projects, finance reporting and claim process

Lead financial analysis, modelling and benefits assessment of investment proposals (particularly major strategic capital investments)

Lead pricing / benchmarking analysis of strategic facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations such as state aid

Establish robust programme and project forecasting methodology

Develop and drive improvements in systems and processes, through automation of reporting and analysis

Provide financial support and advice to external organisations

Support the efficient and accurate completion of the year-end audit

Team leadership of our FP&A Analystand Project Accountant

Skills & Knowledge Required:

Is curious, with a desire to learn and share knowledge, and focused on continuous improvement and wanting to develop new ways to highlight or explain information to support insight and decision-making

Adopts a customer-first approach, and who will find out, even if it's not my role

Is a team-worker, who works collaboratively with their colleagues and stakeholders at all levels across the organisation

Is focused on attention to detail, and adopts working practices that ensures the information reported is accurate

Is a self-learner, wanting to develop their own skills and knowledge

Is a qualified accountant, with knowledge of the implications of accounting in financial planning, analysis and project reporting

Has prior experience of the Grant claim process and successful delivery of audit reports

Has advanced financial modelling and analysis skills

Is knowledgeable in investment and capital appraisal analysis
