Financial Controller- Interim and Immediate Start

Hays are working with of Northern Ireland's leading FMCG businesses, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team.
Reporting directly to the COO, this is a highly visible role with responsibility for leading the finance function, driving commercial performance, ensuring robust financial control, and providing strategic insight to support business growth.
Your new role
As Financial Controller, you will have overall responsibility for the finance and administrative functions of the Group, ensuring strong governance, accurate reporting, and effective financial management across the organisation. Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Maintaining a strong financial control environment and overseeing month-end and year-end processes.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, treasury and working capital activities.
• Providing insightful commercial analysis around sales, margins, profitability and operational performance.
• Developing meaningful KPIs to support informed business decisions.
• Managing banking relationships, funding facilities and foreign exchange requirements.
• Overseeing inventory reporting, margin analysis and stock control performance.
• Ensuring compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Leading and developing the finance team while driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.
• Supporting ERP system development and wider business change initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience within a Financial Controller or senior finance position.
• Strong financial and management accounting expertise.
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and working capital.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong Excel and financial systems capabilitie
