The Role

As a Financial Controller for Group Functions, you will become an integral member of a dynamic Finance and Governance function, where you'll be the Finance Business Partner of choice, delivering safely, responsibly, and sustainably for the benefit of all our stakeholders and in support of the strategic growth of the business to deliver operational advantage.

Day to day, you will act as a Finance Business Partner to the Group Function Directors, with the following areas under your remit - Enterprise Services and People.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Line management responsibility for 5 accountants supporting the reporting across all Group functions. Lead all financial reporting and planning (both operating costs, recoveries and investments) for these enabling Functions within the UK, ensuring compliance with the Group strategy, policy and procedures, to enable functional performance.
• Local stewardship and control of the financial affairs of specific Group functions in accordance with the Group Finance strategy, policy and procedures.
• Leads the cost reporting and management for Group and UK functions.

Essential experience of the Financial Controller:

• Commercially astute: ability to commercially assess, challenge and contribute to investment decisions and other key financial judgements on behalf of the Group.
• Strategic thinker: ability to think long term and beyond immediate area of responsibility, requiring sector awareness, critical analysis and integration of information and the ability to develop action oriented plans.
• Exceptional Business partnering background.

Essential qualifications for the Financial Controller:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
• Experience of working in complex matrix organisations and across multiple jurisdictions/time zones.

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough head office with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
