Job Description

Avantor is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Financial Controller (f/m/d) to join our team in Austria. This role plays a critical part in shaping financial strategy and ensuring compliance with global standards. With blended responsibilities as FP&A Specialist and Business Controller, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, analyzing key metrics, and supporting audits, while collaborating closely with leadership to drive business performance.

The role requires primary residence in Austria and can be performed remotely. If you live within 50 kms of our Vienna office, we offer a hybrid contract (two days of home office per week).


Aufgaben

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Work closely with the local Sales Leadership Team to create and implement action plans to achieve the annual operating plan.
  • Create weekly and monthly sales forecasts.
  • Develop and implement the annual operating plan and monthly reports (P&L) and forecasts.
  • Prepare and review monthly results and ad hoc analysis to increase productivity.
  • Develop financial presentation packages for senior management.
  • Develop working capital targets and coordinate with various business units.
  • Review the profitability of customers, categories, and products.
  • Review and develop financial justification for capital and operating expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and US GAAP standards.
  • Resolution of financial and reporting issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Recommend best practices based on analytical data review.

Profil

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in finance or accounting.
  • Experience with SAP is considered an asset.
  • Experience with creating financial reports and forecasts.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to optimize reporting processes and ensure efficient operations.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • High proficiency in Excel and Access.
  • Business fluency in German & English.
