Financial Controller

A well-established and reputable organisation is looking to hire an experiencedFinancial Controller to join their senior management team. The role is based inRoscommon.

This is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for the overall finance function, while also providing financial and commercial support to senior management and contributing to the wider strategic direction of the business.

• Oversee the overall financial management and reporting function.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare and submit bi-monthly VAT returns.
• Ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll processing.
• Lead and develop a finance team.
• Strengthen financial controls, accounting processes and internal procedures.
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency.
• Provide financial insight and commercial support to senior management.

• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Accountant, Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of current accounting standards.
• Proven team management and leadership experience.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
• A proactive approach to process improvement and financial controls.
