Financial Controller

A growing group business based on the outskirts of Manchester is looking to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to assist in the company's growth.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have full responsibilities for the company's finance function and will be part of the Senior Management Team. Duties will include:

1. Preparation and review of monthly financial statements
2. Preparation and review of monthly board packs
3. Preparation of annual statutory accounts for non-audit companies
4. Preparation of year-end external audit file
5. Liaising with and assisting external auditors and professional advisers
6. Preparing and submitting VAT returns
7. Liaising with VAT consultants to maximise VAT recovery
8. Liaising with Corporation Tax advisers to ensure timely payment of liabilities and filing of returns
9. Preparing financial models and forecasts on an ad hoc basis as required
10. Reviewing and authorising invoices for payment
11. Acting as signatory on company bank accounts and making payments when necessary
12. Liaising with key suppliers and pushing for cost reduction where appropriate
