Financial Accountant

Zayo is seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for general ledger, budget functions, process improvements, and other special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts

Prepares various financial reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and other systems

Prepares and presents actual vs budget reporting for executive management

Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes; assists with automating and streamlining processes

Responsible for keeping accurate accounting records and files for all areas of responsibility

Assist with the annual audit; including working directly with outside auditors to expedite process, provide documentation, and answer questions as needed

Other projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned

Qualifications:

At least 7 years experience in Accounting or Finance field

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience with MS Office, including a high level of proficiency in Excel. NetSuite experience, a plus

Detail-oriented and motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a team setting and possess excellent customer service and communication skills

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manual s

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
