Job Overview:

The Finance Systems (Infor SunSystems) Configuration Specialist is responsible for the setup and, configuration of SunSystems to support the organisation's finance and reporting processes. The role ensures the system operates efficiently, meets business requirements, and complies with best-practice financial controls.

Key responsibilities include documentation of the setup, providing user training and support, managing account reconciliations, coordinating integrations with other systems and third-party providers, and creating or updating Infor Q&A reports and business rules. Working within a SOX-compliant framework, the role acts as a crucial link between finance, technology, and operational teams to ensure smooth, efficient system operations.

Navigator Gas also plans to migrate SunSystems to a Cloud solution, which may form a second-stage project, potentially extending the role beyond the initial period.

The Finance Systems (Infor SunSystems) Configuration Specialist reports to the Finance Systems Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Setup and configure SunSystems modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Fixed Assets to meet business requirements.
• Maintain and update the chart of accounts, company structures, financial periods, and system parameters.
• Collaborate with finance and other business stakeholders to gather requirements for system changes or enhancements.
• Conduct testing for system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure accuracy and minimal disruption.
• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration-related issues within SunSystems.
• Support account reconciliations and coordinate integrations with other systems and third-party providers.
• Create, update, and rebuild Infor Q&A reports to meet reporting needs.
• Assist with system documentation, including configuration manuals, process flows, and training materials.
• Provide guidance and training to users on best practice system usage.
• Liaise with SunSystems support vendors or consultants for advanced configuration or technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience configuring and maintaining SunSystems 6.4.
• Experience in ERP configuration, particularly in finance modules.
• Experience with system testing, data validation, reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Experience in ERP upgrades, migrations, or Cloud implementations.
• Relevant certifications in SunSystems or ERP systems.
• Analysing an existing finance system to identify improvements and efficiencies.
• SUN Systems administration experience, including:
  • Maintenance of static data
  • Business unit administration
  • Ledger setup
  • Transfer desk operations
  • Business rule configuration
  • User set up and user rights management
  • API and/or other forms of data integration with SunSystems
• Experience of training and assisting other system users through the change process.
• Strong understanding of what makes a good financial process or control, and how these can be optimally set up within and when using SunSystems.
• Understanding of SOX compliance requirements.
