Your new company
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of this public sector organisation. This pivotal role ensures the effective management of budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the smooth running of the school and the achievement of its educational goals.
Your new role
- Manage the financial systems, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor income and expenditure against budget, providing regular updates to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and school policies
- Liaise with external auditors, local authorities, and other stakeholders
- Oversee payroll, pensions, and staff expenses
- Manage procurement processes and contracts with suppliers
- Support funding applications and financial planning for school projects
- Provide financial advice to the Headteacher and Governing Body
What you'll need to succeed
- A recognised finance/accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably within an educational or public sector setting
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and school funding mechanisms
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
