The Finance Manager will take full ownership of the finance engine, ensuring rock-solid accounting, compliance and reporting while providing the commercial insight needed to drive smarter decisions. Description
- Own the full finance function end-to-end, including accounting, compliance, reporting and financial control.
- Lead month-end close, management accounts production and all reconciliations.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet, keeping the business audit-ready.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting cycles, building models that inform strategy and performance.
- Partner with teams across Operations, Sales, Marketing and Production to optimise margins, ROI and cost centres.
- Manage VAT, Corporation Tax and statutory returns, working with external advisers where required.
- Translate complex or messy data into actionable insight, including pricing, promotions and unit economics.
- Champion automation, better tools and smarter financial processes to improve efficiency.
- Oversee cashflow, liquidity and working capital, anticipating funding needs and managing FX exposure.
- Line-manage and develop a Finance Officer, fostering capability and ownership within the function.
Profile
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- A recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical grounding and the confidence to independently own a full finance function.
- Someone with sharp commercial instinct who can turn raw or messy data into meaningful, actionable insight.
- Advanced Excel/Sheets capability, able to build reliable and explainable financial models.
- A clear, influential communicator who can partner with non-finance teams and tell the story behind the numbers.
- A proactive self-starter with an ownership mindset - practical, solutions-focused and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ideally experienced in FMCG, consumer goods or scale-up environments, with exposure to inventory flows, VAT complexities and multi-channel sales.
- Ambitious, detail-driven and hungry to make an impact, aligning with a culture that values speed, autonomy and continuous improvement.
- Will be willing to go into the office 5 days a week
