Somerce is a fast-growing social commerce agency, helping brands succeed on TikTok Shop through live shopping, content, and performance marketing. As the business scales, Somerce is bringing finance operations in-house to create structure, improve visibility, and free up the founder and MD from day-to-day finance management.

Somerce is looking for a Finance Manager who can take full ownership of the finance function - ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely reporting, while supporting leadership with the insight needed to make informed decisions.

Financial Operations

  • Raise and issue client invoices.
  • Chase overdue invoices and manage debtor control.
  • Process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payments.
  • Oversee reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records in Xero.

Cash Flow & Control

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and ensure strong liquidity.
  • Monitor payment schedules and optimise working capital.
  • Support budget management and cost control.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Track and analyse performance (revenue, costs, margin) and flag variances.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership on risks and opportunities.

Compliance & Governance

  • Liaise with external accountants on VAT, payroll, and year-end accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and approval processes.

Business Partnering

  • Act as the internal go-to for finance, providing clear updates to the founder and MD.
  • Support strategic planning and forecasting with accurate data.
  • Identify areas to improve efficiency and profitability.

Leadership & Initiative

  • Take ownership of building a structured, professional finance system.
  • Proactively suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on financial procedures when needed.
  • Experience in a finance role (Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of invoicing, payments, cash flow, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Xero (or similar accounting software) and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in agency, e-commerce, or retail sectors.
  • Payroll management knowledge.
  • Previous exposure to scaling SMEs and working with founders.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • £50 monthly gym membership
  • Up to 10 days per year work from anywhere
  • 28 days holiday
  • Regular team socials
