KC Group are partnering with a PE-backed SME business in Birmingham to recruit an experienced and commercially focused Finance Director.

This is a key appointment for the business and an excellent opportunity for a high calibre finance professional to join an ambitious organisation during an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, the Finance Director will play a pivotal role in driving business performance, supporting strategic decision making, and helping deliver the company's long term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and reporting processes
• Provide commercial and strategic support to the CEO and wider leadership team
• Deliver insightful management information and analysis to support business performance
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
• Support operational improvements and business efficiencies across the organisation
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and investors
• Play a key role in future growth initiatives, acquisitions, and value creation projects
• Prepare board level reporting and support PE investor requirements

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Proven experience operating at Finance Director or senior financial leadership level
• Strong SME experience within a fast paced and evolving environment
• Commercially astute with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Hands on approach with the ability to operate strategically and operationally
• Previous PE backed or investor led experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong leadership and team management capability
