Finance Director

Artemis Executive Search has been successfully retained by a thriving Mid-Ulster manufacturing business, operating across the UK and Ireland for over 30 years, to appoint an experienced Finance Director to join its senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to shape the business's financial strategy, lead future acquisitions, and drive operational efficiencies through robust systems and processes.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all aspects of the company's financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Driving operational efficiency by enhancing systems, processes, and reporting tools across the business.
  • Leading future acquisition activity, including financial modelling, due diligence, deal execution, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Managing cash flow, treasury, and funding relationships to support growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Overseeing capital investment projects, evaluating returns, and monitoring post-investment performance.
  • Supporting strategic decision-making with accurate, timely and insightful financial information.
  • Building, mentoring, and developing a high-performing finance team to scale with the business.
  • Ensuring compliance, risk management, and corporate governance across all finance operations.
The Person

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • At least 5 years' experience at FD or CFO level within a growing business.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred.
  • Proven track record in leading acquisitions and post-merger integration.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and systems/process improvement.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and people management skills.
  • Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent.
  • Experience reporting to a senior management team or Board.
