Finance Business Partner (Technical)

Responsible for delivering high-quality financial advice and commercial & financial expertise to the organisation.

Take a proactive approach in managing and delivering timely financial and management accounting services, including budgeting, medium- and long-term financial planning, project and transformation programme support, forecasting, financial reporting, and control. This includes long-term capital and resource planning for various funds, closure of annual accounts, and overseeing companies wholly owned or with a material interest to the council.

Provide comprehensive and innovative support to senior managers and councillors on diverse propositions, working collaboratively across the finance function to manage complex projects effectively. Act as an integral member of the finance management team, leveraging specialist expertise to identify, develop, and support opportunities to transform financial services and governance across the council, contributing to strategic and operational developments.

Provide confident leadership and clear management to ensure the effective operational delivery of the service, including significant, complex, and high-risk programmes and projects. Contribute to strategic and operational development using your specialist expertise.
