Senior Finance Business Partner - UK Refinery
Location: Weybridge, Surrey with frequent travel to Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery in Immingham
Reporting to: Group Head of Financial Planning, Analysis & Business Partnering
Are you ready to take your finance career to the next level in a dynamic and vital sector? Prax Group is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to support the financial and operational performance of Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery.
This is a high-impact role where strategic thinking meets hands-on execution. You'll work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, providing critical financial insights that drive performance, efficiency, and growth.
What You'll Be Doing
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead monthly and quarterly reporting for both Site and Group Leadership Teams.
- Drive the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and highlight risks and opportunities.
- Monitor key financial KPIs to ensure alignment with refinery goals.
- Oversee month-end activities including hedge reconciliation, accrual reviews, pricing validation, and system reconciliations.
Business Partnering:
- Be a trusted advisor to operational leaders, offering financial insights that shape key decisions.
- Collaborate with refinery management to drive cost control and operational efficiency.
- Present financial data in a clear, actionable format to senior stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10+ years in finance within oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing-ideally in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
- Strong background in FP&A, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling expertise.
- ERP experience (SAP or similar).
Personal Attributes:
- Analytical mindset with a knack for translating data into insights.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Proactive, results-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
