Field Engineer (076jc) - Covering London and South East - £30k + benefits + OTE £40k

My client is seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting clients across London and the South East. This role involves installing, deploying and configuring IT hardware at a variety of customer sites while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

You will be part of a nationwide engineering network and play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions and excellent customer service.

Following a training period, this role includes participation in an on call rota (approximately 1 week in every 4 weeks) and you will receive a £3k on call allowance, as well as overtime payments for each call out. Over time opportunities are also available.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and deploy IT networking and point-of-sale hardware
• Configure hardware and troubleshoot installation issues
• Ensure smooth integration with existing client systems
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers on site
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service activities
• Collaborate with the service desk to deliver effective customer solutions
• Participate in an on call rota including out of hours support

Skills & Experience

• Strong networking and cabling experience, ideally across multiple networking technologies (Cisco experience beneficial)
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Excellent time management and punctuality
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Self motivated with a problem solving mindset
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments
• A strong team player

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with ServiceNow
• SC clearance

Essential

• Full, clean UK driving licence - a company vehicle and fuel card are provided

Compensation & Benefits

Good starting salary of £30k, plus a £3k on call bonus even if you don't get called out. With overtime, you can realistically earn about £40k per year.
