Female Personal Assistant - Galashiels - 3076

We are looking for friendly, reliable experienced Personal Assistants to support with morning and bedtime personal care Monday to Sunday for an elderly lady who suffers from Parkinsons living in Galashiels.

This role is focused on providing practical support with transferring, washing daily/bathing twice per week, drying, dressing. Due to the personal care needs of the individual, this role is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Equality Act 2010.

Hours

7.5 per week, Monday to Sunday, morning & bedtime visits, ideally at 10am and 7pm.

Morning visits are:

• 2 x 45 mins per visit (for bathing)
• 5 x 30 mins per visit

Bedtime visits are:

• 7 x 30 mins per visit

Duties will include:

• Support with transfers to and from bed
• Support with getting washed/showered, hair wash, dried, dressed
• Support with dressing, fastenings
• Any other duties I'm unable to manage

• Kind, patient, and personable
• Reliable and punctual
• Enjoys conversation and supporting others
• Moving and handling experience or willingness to take training
• Previous care or support experience is helpful but not essential

Terms:

• £14.00 per hour
• Mileage allowance negotiable
  Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
