What You Will Be DoingAs Farm Manager, you will lead all arable and potato operations. You will:
- Manage crop planning, planting, growing, and harvest operations
- Develop and trial new crop opportunities to enhance profitability
- Create nutrition plans, crop rotations, irrigation schedules, and cultivation strategies
- Monitor crop performance, pests, and diseases, implementing preventative and reactive measures
- Recruit, train, and manage permanent and seasonal staff
- Plan workloads, manage performance, and promote a positive team culture
- Oversee machinery and equipment care to ensure efficient use
- Manage budgets, input costs, labour planning, and provide performance reporting
- Maintain health & safety compliance and champion sustainable farming practices
- Previous farm management experience, ideally in arable and root crop production
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams
- Strong organisational, planning, and communication abilities
- Knowledge of modern arable and root crop techniques, machinery, and sustainable agriculture
- Agricultural qualifications beneficial
- A proactive, innovative mindset and interest in crop diversification
