About the role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Family Weight Management Lead to support children, young people and families to make positive and sustainable lifestyle changes. This role will lead a dynamic, evidence based service delivering healthy lifestyle interventions across schools, community settings and virtual platforms.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead planning, coordination and delivery of the Family Weight Management service to achieve annual KPIs, targets and outcomes.
  • Manage, support and motivate a team of Healthy Lifestyle Advisors to deliver high quality interventions across schools, community venues, telephone and virtual platforms.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, age appropriate healthy lifestyle interventions for children, young people and families through group sessions, workshops and one to one support.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, childcare centres, healthcare professionals, community organisations and other stakeholders to promote the service and strengthen referral pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to support families with more complex needs.
  • Monitor service performance, referral pathways and engagement data, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure high standards of service delivery through quality assurance, audits, staff observations and clinical governance procedures.
  • Support recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of staff and volunteers.
  • Produce accurate reports and maintain service data in line with organisational and commissioner requirements.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops and promotional events to raise awareness of the service.
Person specification Experience
  • Relevant experience working with families and/or young people.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering or managing community development or asset based programmes.
  • Experience working with hard to reach groups and tackling health inequalities.
  • Experience working within a multi disciplinary team.
  • Experience delivering groups and/or one to one healthy lifestyle interventions to children, young people and adults.
Skills and knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor delivery styles to different audiences.
  • Awareness of the barriers faced by adults, young people and families in engaging with a healthy lifestyle.
  • Ability to prioritise work tasks and develop effective work streams.
  • Ability to read and interpret data.
  • Understanding of public health guidance and the health care commissioning environment.
  • Capability of producing performance reports.
  • Understanding of behaviour change theory.
  • Knowledge of children's safeguarding and child protection issues and processes.
Qualifications
  • Degree level education or demonstrable relevant equivalent experience in public health or a related field.
  • AFN accreditation or equivalent.
Job specific requirements
  • Requires full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
