Family Support Manager (Middlesbrough and surrounding areas)

The Family Support Manager is a key staff role involving working with families and facilitating support from volunteers recruited from the local church and community.

You will work as part of the Teesvalley team, which includes Middlesbrough, Darlington, Stockton, and Hartlepool, and must be able to travel across these areas.

The role involves managing referrals from schools or the Local Authority, conducting risk assessments, setting goals, matching and introducing volunteers, providing ongoing mentoring, and evaluating when outcomes are achieved. The aim is to help families navigate challenging circumstances by connecting them with local volunteer-based, sustainable support.

Applicants should have experience working with children, families, or vulnerable groups, and knowledge of safeguarding principles and processes. This role offers the opportunity to see how small actions from dedicated volunteers can bring hope and transformation to families and care leavers.

Contract Type

This is a permanent position, subject to continued partnership funding.

Hours of Work

Part-time, 0.6 FTE (22 hours 30 minutes per week).

Location

Based in our Darlington office with flexible remote working options available.

Salary Holiday Entitlement

36 days annual leave (including bank holidays and Christmas closure), with options to purchase additional leave and extra days based on length of service. Pro-rated for part-time staff.
