An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and committed Family Solutions Team (FST) Practitioner to join our dedicated team. This is your chance to bring creativity, compassion, and determination to a role that truly changes lives.
About the RoleAs an FST Practitioner, you will:
- Work directly with children, young people, and families to achieve better outcomes and prevent family breakdown and improve home stability, both on edge of care and in care.
- Deliver targeted, impactful interventions that build resilience and strengthen family networks
- Encourage families to connect with wider support systems and community services, creating sustainable solutions.
- Coordinate tailored packages of support to address assessed needs and reduce risk.
Your work will help keep families together and ensure children can thrive.
Who We're Looking ForWe want someone who is creative, driven, and passionate about making a difference. You'll need to bring energy, empathy, and resilience to this role, as you'll be working with families facing complex challenges.
You will be someone who:
- Believes in the power of family and understands the importance of keeping children within their family networks wherever possible.
- Thrives on problem-solving and can adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each family.
- Communicates with confidence and compassion, building strong relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Works collaboratively with other professionals and community services to create sustainable support systems.
- Stays calm under pressure, managing challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Is motivated by impact, knowing that every conversation, every intervention, and every connection you make can change a child's future.
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Social Care, Education, Health, Youth & Community Services, or Early Years.
- At least two years' experience working directly with children, young people, or families, managing a caseload.
- Skilled in delivering direct work for children and young people with complex needs.
- Knowledge of social care processes for Children in Need, Child Protection Plans, and Looked After Children.
- Experience in coordinating interventions to reduce risk and build resilience.
- Ability to identify risk, complete assessments, and apply thresholds effectively.
