Job Description
Family Solicitor
Bolton / Hybrid Working
Salary: Negotiable, Dependent on Experience
A long-established and well-regarded law firm is looking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Family Law Solicitor to join its thriving team. This is a great opportunity to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking environment, handling a diverse mix of private and publicly funded family matters.

The Role:
As a Family Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing a busy and rewarding caseload covering both Legal Aid and privately funded matters. Your key duties will include:
  • Running a varied caseload of private family law work, including divorce, separation, financial settlements, cohabitation disputes, and children matters such as child arrangements orders and parental responsibility.
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents, including applications, statements, and consent orders, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attending and representing clients at court hearings, undertaking advocacy as appropriate.
  • Providing clear, sensitive, and practical legal advice to clients during emotionally challenging situations
  • Liaising and building strong working relationships with courts, barristers, social services, and other external agencies.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the department to ensure consistent and client-focused service delivery.
  • Contributing to the development of the department by taking part in networking, marketing, and other business development activities as required.

What We're Looking For:
  • A qualified solicitor or legal executive with experience in family law, ideally with exposure to both Legal Aid and private work.
  • A solid understanding of the Legal Aid framework, with experience using CCMS to manage and progress public-funded cases.
  • Strong drafting, communication, and client-handling skills, with a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage a busy caseload independently and prioritise competing demands effectively
  • A team player who is also confident working autonomously, with a proactive and collaborative attitude.
  • Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to the ongoing success of the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Family Solicitor to join a supportive and well-structured team, with flexible hybrid working, a negotiable salary package, and real prospects for development. Apply today, or for more information, send your CV to or call .
