Job Description
Overview

Please note: A Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement. This is a part-time role: 22 hours per week with some flexibility in days and layout of these hours.

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance use issues. As a Family Safeguarding Recovery Worker, you will develop personalised, flexible, and realistic support packages to help clients turn things around. You will work as part of a friendly and multidisciplinary team within a safeguarding context.

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the SDAS Young Persons & Family Service Manager/Family Safeguarding Team Leader as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team within the Somerset Family Safeguarding Team.
  • Deliver comprehensive interventions underpinned by Motivational Interviewing Techniques.
  • Provide a full range of outreach, open access, and case management services.
  • Support medically assisted recovery where appropriate.
  • Deliver recovery interventions to families affected by substance use where children are subject to Child Protection or Child in Need Plans.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting with a focus on substance use and family safeguarding is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing Techniques and related intervention strategies.
  • Ability to work with families and support networks in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
Salary and Benefits

The role offers a starting salary of £25,870 per year, rising each year in line with pay progression bands, up to £30,265 per year (pro rata). Depending on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial rate.
