Join Cardiff Children's Services - Family Network Facilitator Team
We're building a new team within the Intervention Hub to support families in making safe, informed decisions for their children. Our facilitators specialise in family networking and communication, working with families experiencing acute stress and crisis.
About the jobThe Role
As a Family Network Facilitator, you'll empower families to find their own solutions, ensuring the child or young person's voice is central to every decision. You'll work with families with complex needs, often involved in child protection processes, helping them make sustainable changes that allow children to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate Family Network Meetings that are inclusive and solution-focused.
- Prepare participants by engaging with children, families, and professionals to ensure clarity and support.
- Ensure the child's voice is heard, capturing their wishes and feelings in a safe and appropriate way.
- Promote family-led decision-making
- Document and share plans with all relevant parties, maintaining confidentiality.
- Monitor progress and arrange review meetings as needed.
About You
You're an experienced family support worker with strong knowledge of child developmental trauma, strength-based practice, and mediation skills. You'll work across Cardiff and occasionally travel outside the city to meet with extended family networks. You will also work flexibly; this will include evening and weekend work as required.
