YMCA Newark & Sherwood have created a brand new role of Facility Lead to oversee and manage the Facilties teams ensuring our wonderful building is run to the highest standards.

The Community & Activity Village is a busy local hub for children, young people, adults and businesses using the amazing facilities within the Village. We are incredibly proud of the positive difference we have made to the local community through our beautiful nursery and childcare programmes, our amazing café and conferencing suite, all our health and well-being facilities including gym, climbing centre, dance and art studios as well as our Business Centre and Education & Training Centre.

You will work with the other Facility Lead to ensure there is a comprehensive, collaborative and most importantly, consistent cover for our visitors, colleagues and your teams.

Role Highlights

Job Title: Facility Lead - Facilities

Location: YMCA Newark & Sherwood Community & Activity Village, Lord Hawke Way, Newark, NG24 4FH

Salary: £29,500 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis to ensure building coverage and time with every member of your team. The Village is open 7am to 10pm so shifts will be within this time frame. We would hope you are able to work a mixture of early and lates but we will discuss individual arrangements with you at interview.

The Role

As Facility Lead, you will ensure the smooth running of this building from the moment our visitors arrive on site to the end-of-day close down.

You can expect your role to include:

  • Act as Team Leader to your diverse team conducting 1-2-1s, Team Meetings, and Appraisals
  • Serve as Key Holder maintaining security and access management.
  • Oversee CCTV and ensure the building is secure
  • Lead on the preparation of room and activity set up so our spaces are set up ready for our visitors
  • Health and Safety Management
  • Building Compliance to relevant legislation including COSHH management
  • Manage the reporting and investigation of incidents and accidents
  • Act as the primary contact for external contractors
  • Report on weekly and monthly Metrics and KPIs
  • Hold and maintain your annual Budget, ensure tight cost controls and value for money.
  • Be hands on to support your team and cover where needed to ensure our operational standards remain high
  • Act as out of hours support as part of our "Out of Hours Escalation Process"
