Facilities/Maintenance Operative

Responsibilities

• Follow the daily plan outlined by the supervisor.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, unblocking drains, or basic repairs.
• Ensure strict adherence to all Health & Safety regulations, including safe use of tools, machinery, chemicals, and regular site inspections.
• Manage waste and recycling processes, including emptying bins and baler.
• Perform weekly checks on plant and machinery and log maintenance data to support equipment failure analysis.
• Support Engineering and Production personnel on continuous improvements and monitor equipment in order to recommend process improvements.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programmes.
• Assist with handling and storage procedures to eliminate damage of moulds or other tooling/plant.
• Support mould changes in the Roto and Pipe departments as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in maintenance, plumbing, electrical or joinery.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work in a proactive and efficient manner.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Previous experience working in an industrial environment is advantageous.
• Leaving Certificate, a minimum educational requirement.
• Excellent communication skills - fluent in both verbal and written English.
• First Aid or Manual Handling training.
