About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and hardworking General Maintenance Operative to join their team. This is a varied, hands on position that would suit someone with experience in gardening and cleaning who enjoys a diverse workload.

Working across the site, you will be responsible for maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas to a high standard, ensuring the premises remain clean, safe, and well presented.

Key Responsibilities

• General gardening and grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding and planting.
• Cleaning buildings, equipment and communal areas.
• Using cleaning chemicals and products safely in accordance with company procedures.
• Carrying out general housekeeping and site maintenance duties.
• Operating gardening equipment and cleaning machinery where required.
• Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns.
• Assisting with additional site duties as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or landscaping.
• Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a commercial or industrial environment.
• A practical, hands on approach with good attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence - essential.
• Comfortable working with strong cleaning chemicals and fumes (appropriate PPE will be provided).
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual work, including lifting, bending and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A good understanding of health and safety procedures.
