Facilities Generalist - Hands-On Maintenance Across Sites

Overall Role Purpose
The General Operative - Facilities supports the Facilities & Property lead in providing reactive and pre planned maintenance services. This will encompass building fabric, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, specific engineering services and on-site waste management. In accordance with laid down procedures and safe working practices. The successful candidate will act as a key customer contact supporting the Facilities & Property Manager. Responsible for ensuring that the planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to the agreed standard across the country. In addition, to engage with LOBs to comply with Enet Facilities Services waste management policy. The role will cover all Enet sites nationwide within the republic of Ireland.
Key Accountabilities
Working with multi-skilled teams in a hands-on environment.
Domestic plumbing maintenance and repair
General electrical repair to current/required electrical standards within competency
General building fabric maintenance and repairs.
General handy man duties, Painting and Decorating, Logistics as required. Office moves/ meeting room set-up, undertake basic grounds maintenance duties and housekeeping duties as required. Other relevant duties consistent with the general requirements of our facilities service delivery as directed by the Facilities Team Lead.
Work in line with Enet Health & Safety policy, ensuring that safe systems of work are always adopted whilst creating a safe working environment for our customers and colleagues alike.
Ensure compliance with all processes and procedures, statutory requirements, engineering standards. Ensure upkeep of all site safety procedures and compliance. Deliver our service commitments, maintaining high standards of HSA and a secure workplace, control cost, drive service improvement activity and improve customer satisfaction.
Provide a planned and reactive maintenance service as instructed, ensuring that operational standards, process and procedures are followed. Ensure reactive tickets are completed in timely manner. Proactively update customers about status of incomplete planned and reactive tasks. Build and sustain effective relationships within the customer organization
Effectively manage consumables, van stock, tools and equipment, Report risk, loss or defect to the line manager for corrective actions
Required Qualifications/ Competencies
1 to 3 years' experience working in a Mechanical/Electrical bias in Facilities management, Maintenance, Building services
Electrical or Plumbing core competency (certified) with experience in facilities maintenance.
Able to demonstrate competence in the required tasks typically undertaken within building/Estates maintenance. Have a background in maintenance or Building Services and a willingness and aptitude to learn new skills.
Fully conversant with all relevant HSA requirements and their effective application.
A good standard of verbal and written communication skills.
Appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety and environmental requirements related to delivery of the assigned tasks, including manual handling awareness, legionella awareness, PASMA, IPAF, asbestos awareness, roof working
Computer literate (MS Office etc.)
Full driving licence required
Diligent, with an eye for quality and attention to detail, acting with a sense of urgency to put things right for customers
Self-motivated to manage own tasks with minimal supervision
Flexible to travel nationwide and out of hours working when necessary
