Department - Facilities

Working Pattern - In Office (Part time - 3 days a week, 6 hours per day)

We are looking for a practical and proactive Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our Nottingham office. This is a varied, hands on role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming workplace. You will play an important part in ensuring the office environment runs smoothly, handling everything from general maintenance to supporting internal events.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out general maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and basic repairs
  • Responding to facilities requests from colleagues, prioritising tasks and resolving issues efficiently
  • Proactively identifying maintenance issues and addressing them before they escape
  • Acting as a point of contact for external contractors, ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, servicing, and equipment replacement
  • Taking ownership of the overall upkeep and presentation of the office, including communal areas and workspaces
  • Monitoring and replenishing supplies such as light bulbs, cleaning materials, and kitchen essentials
  • Supporting the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms, events, and office-wide activities
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a facilities, maintenance, caretaker, or similar hands on role
  • Practical skills across a range of general maintenance tasks, including basic repairs and decorating
  • A proactive and self motivated approach, with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
  • Reliable and dependable, with a consistent and punctual approach to work
  • A professional and approachable manner when interacting with colleagues and visitors
  • Awareness of health and safety standards within a workplace environment
  • Physically capable of carrying out manual handling tasks as part of the role
