Lead Engineering Operations on a Flagship Pharmaceutical SiteAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities & Engineering Manager to join a leading global Facilities Management provider, supporting a high-profile pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Cork.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the delivery of all hard services, maintenance operations, engineering projects, compliance activities, and asset management across a highly regulated environment.
You will lead a multidisciplinary technical team, manage key stakeholder relationships, and drive operational excellence while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and engineering performance.

As Facilities & Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of all hard FM services and engineering activities on site, ensuring facilities, utilities, and critical assets operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will be responsible for planning and overseeing maintenance programmes, managing technical projects, driving asset performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the day-to-day delivery of engineering maintenance and hard FM services
- Manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and reactive maintenance activities
- Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximise reliability and performance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and client requirements
- Manage Permit to Work systems and Safe Systems of Work
- Lead engineering and facilities-related projects from planning through to completion
- Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives across the site
- Manage contractor and supplier performance to ensure service excellence
- Oversee technical budgets, forecasting, and cost control
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients, stakeholders, and senior management
- Develop, coach, and mentor technical and engineering teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and asset performance
You will be an experienced engineering or facilities leader with a strong background in technical services, maintenance management, or hard FM within a regulated environment.
Essential Requirements- A qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing engineering maintenance and technical services operations
- Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors
- Experience delivering maintenance programmes and engineering projects
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, life sciences, or other highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of CMMS platforms such as Maximo
- Experience leading sustainability and energy management initiatives
- Salary of €75,000 - €85,000 plus benefits
