Fabric Cutter (Salford/Blackburn Factory)

Forest Sofa Ltd are looking for an experienced Fabric Cutter to join our company. The role will be based in either our Salford factory or Blackburn factory, close to public transport links. Forest Sofa are a well-established UK Upholstery Manufacturer with two sites who are looking to expand the team due to growth. As a company we manufacturer a range of traditional chesterfield and contemporary; sofas, chairs, and sofa beds.

The person we are looking for would have previous cutting experience and ideally be able to work full-time however, part-time could be considered. At Forest Sofa we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and would like someone with the same drive and passion to join our team.

• Follow works order instructions, ensuring all notes / job tickets are reviewed.
• Ensuring all orders are cut to the correct measurements.
• Identifying any issues with fabric issued for jobs and raising this with management and development.
• Accurately record keeping of fabric stock to prevent over / under ordering for jobs.
• Reviewing jobs and calculating the best way to cut fabric to ensure minimal waste.
• Ability to calculate fabric sizing requirements, layering up and numeracy.
• Prioritising order of work.
• Working on a variety of models / sizes.Cutting of lining cloth.
• Maintaining a record of jobs complete.
• Communicating with other ream members to ensure any delays / problems are recorded and dealt with.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work within a team environment.
• Adhere to company health and safety policies.

• Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm.
• Friday - 7:30am - 12:30pm.
• Overtime often available; evenings and Saturdays.
• Pay rate is dependent on experience and quality of work.
• Three-month training / induction period once completed pay will be reviewed.

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time upholstery fabric cutting.
• Currently working in the trade or have done so within the last 2 years.
