EYFS & 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant
- Location: Wyre Area
- Start Date: Immediate or September Start Available
- Hours: 15 hours per week (days and working pattern to be agreed with the Headteacher)
- Salary: TA1/TA2 Grade (Competitive, dependent on experience)
- Job Type: Part-time, Long-term
Join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Wyre area as an EYFS & 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone dedicated to nurturing and supporting early years education, combining general EYFS support with targeted 1:1 assistance for a preschool child with additional needs.
Day-to-day of the role:

EYFS Support (10 Hours Per Week):
- Assist the class teacher and EYFS team in delivering engaging learning activities.
- Support children's learning and development through both adult-led and child-initiated activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
- Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Observe and support children's progress and contribute to developmental records.
- Assist with preparing resources and learning environments for indoor and outdoor activities.

1:1 Child Support (Approximately 5 Hours Per Week):
- Provide consistent and individualised support tailored to the child's specific needs.
- Support communication, engagement, and participation in learning activities.
- Assist with personal care and physical needs as required.
- Help the child access the curriculum and integrate successfully into preschool activities.
- Implement support strategies and targets agreed by the school and external professionals.
- Build a positive, nurturing, and trusting relationship with the child and their family.

Additional Duties:
- Provide support within Key Stage 1 (KS1) when required.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all children.
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Headteacher.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children aged 3-5 years in an EYFS, nursery, preschool, school, or childcare setting.
- A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
- Flexibility and willingness to support across different age groups when required.
- Desirable: Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification, experience supporting children with additional needs, knowledge of the EYFS Framework, Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).
