Extraordinary Professorship in Translational MR-Methodology

About us The MR-Methodology Group conducts research and development in magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy as an interdisciplinary unit.

Your profile

  • The professorship is to be filled by an internationally recognized personality with a proven track record in high-field imaging development, including 7 Tesla.
  • Applicants must have:
    • A background in physics with a corresponding technology pathway to clinical application or
    • An MD-PhD degree with experience/further training in the relevant field,
    • In both cases, with a proven focus on MR-sequence development.
  • Expertise in metabolic imaging or another innovative field is advantageous.
  • Existing industry collaborations in this area are preferable.
  • Essential requirements:
    • Strong interest in translational research in MR methodology.
    • Regular publication activity and successful acquisition of competitive external funding.
    • Strong international collaborations in academia and with industry partners.
    • High degree of integration and teamwork skills, including willingness to cooperate with clinical disciplines.
    • Integration into the Translational Imaging Center Bern (TIC).
    • Habilitation or equivalent academic record.
    • Teaching skills and interest in innovative teaching and learning concepts.
    • Strong commitment to promoting young researchers, particularly in supervising PhD students.
