We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing, and related support.

We have almost 200 services around England and nearly 3,500 staff and volunteers who run them. Every year, our services support around 125,000 people.

Bringing together two big organizations is a significant task, and it will take time to fully integrate our systems, processes, and approaches. Therefore, you will notice that current job postings are still branded as 'Humankind'. Next year, we will fully integrate our recruitment systems, but for now, they are separate.

About The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Sexual Exploitation Worker to identify and support individuals experiencing both substance misuse and sexual exploitation. You will ensure that individuals are connected to the right services through appropriate referral pathways, while delivering a client-centered approach to care and treatment. This is a vital role focused on safeguarding and empowering vulnerable people to move towards recovery and stability.

Key Duties:

1. Promote understanding and raise awareness across sexual exploitation and recovery services of co-occurring sexual exploitation and substance misuse issues.
2. Link with drug and alcohol recovery services to promote the identification of victims of sexual exploitation and ensure appropriate referral mechanisms into local support.
3. Support sexual exploitation services within County Durham to identify those requiring support from drug and alcohol recovery services and develop appropriate referral mechanisms.
4. Provide outreach into external partner organizations to promote recovery and increase opportunities for service users to access Waythrough services.
