Job Description
Position Summary

Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced teaching assistant to start after the Easter Break (Mid-April 2026). The role is based in a mainstream primary school in the Saltley area and supports children with varying SEND needs. This maternity cover position lasts from April 2026 to at least November 2026. This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with varying special educational needs.
  • Work on a one-to-one and/or small group (2 3) basis.
  • Lead the learning and engagement of the children in your group.
  • Work independently and as part of a team with other staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relatable subject or sector (essential).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND needs (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or Axcis will carry out a new one (essential).
  • Minimum of two good references (essential).
