We have an exciting opportunity for an Exhibitions Project Manager (Galleries) to play a pivotal role in First Light, a major redevelopment project of the Royal Observatory.
Job SummaryBe at the forefront of an exciting transformation at one of the world's most iconic historic and scientific landmarks. As Exhibitions Project Manager (Galleries), you'll play a pivotal role in First Light - an ambitious capital project set to reinvent the Royal Observatory Greenwich for a new generation. With the launch scheduled for spring/summer 2028, this major redevelopment will deliver a dynamic suite of permanent and semi-permanent exhibitions across the north of the Observatory site, designed to engage fresh audiences and illuminate the Observatory's enduring relevance.
In this delivery-focused role, you'll take the lead on museum exhibition processes to deliver exhibitions across the north of the Observatory site, bringing world-class displays to life by 2028. We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to join this team, working alongside colleagues to oversee the management of various projects across the Royal Observatory site. You'll manage processes including content development, text-writing, and client duties related to exhibition design, build, installation, and post-opening maintenance. You'll be responsible for the overall delivery of your projects and will need to develop strong working relationships and collaborate closely with colleagues from across the Museum to ensure our displays deliver high-quality and engaging content.
This is a fixed-term role for 3 years or until the completion of First Light, at Band 4 - Senior Specialists. Core hours will be 36 per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed with management.
Salary: £42,000 per annum
