We're looking for an Executive Support Officer to join our Executive Support Team, providing high-quality support to senior leaders across the organisation. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll help coordinate meetings, manage correspondence, support key activities and play an important part in ensuring services run smoothly.

About the Role

As an Executive Support Officer, you will provide confidential administrative support to Directors, Assistant Directors and Chief Officers, helping them manage priorities and work effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide professional and confidential administrative support to Directors, Assistant Directors and Chief Officers.
  • Act as a first point of contact for enquiries and correspondence.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings and events, including preparing agendas and supporting documentation.
  • Process and monitor correspondence and incoming mail, ensuring timely responses.
  • Maintain accurate records and deliver a high standard of customer service.
About You
  • Has administrative experience in a busy office environment.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Communicates confidently and professionally, both written and verbally.
  • Builds positive working relationships with a wide range of people - demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Handles confidential information with discretion.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) or relevant experience.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting senior managers.

Working Requirements
  • Standard working week of 36 hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional flexibility to support the Executive Support Team, including work outside normal office hours.
  • Ability to travel to other Council sites as required.
