The Role:

  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive Veterinary Surgeon who is eager to grow and learn from an experienced team while developing their own interests.
  • The practice encourages innovative thinking and is open to supporting projects that positively impact both the team and clients.
  • The role involves building relationships with farmers during routine dairy herd health work.
  • A sound understanding of cattle reproduction and ultrasound is required.

The Rota:

  • The successful candidate will join a 1 in 10 rota, handling the day-to-day emergencies of a busy dairy-focused practice.
  • Confidence in handling out-of-hours cases and a solid base of surgical skills are expected, typically from those with at least 2 years of farm vetting experience.
  • The practice is open to flexibility with days and hours for the right candidate, with a preference for a full-time vet.

A pioneering farm animal veterinary practice based in Whitchurch, Shropshire, is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon. This practice, the first of its kind in the UK, specialises in delivering top-tier care and advice to local farmers. The team, composed of experienced clinicians, Vet Techs, TB vets, approved TB testers, and embryo transfer specialists, is supported by a diligent support team.
