The combined university is now one of the largest higher education destinations for London students, combining a breadth of disciplines across health, business, policy, law, creativity, communications, science and technology. Our students are at the heart of everything that we do, and we are committed to supporting them to pursue their career and personal ambitions.

Our research is engaged, at the frontier of practice and has a positive impact on the world around us.

As the civic university of the City of London, City St George's is proud to host the Finsbury Institute - a new outward-facing hub for research and practice in policy. Following the appointment of its Director in April 2025, we are now looking for an Events and Engagement Manager to become the driving force behind the Finsbury Institute's internal and public-facing activities, helping to shape and deliver a vibrant programme of events, communications and stakeholder engagement.

Working closely with the Director, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in building the Finsbury Institute's reputation from the ground up as a dynamic hub for policy and practice in the heart of the City of London. From curating thought-provoking events to cultivating strategic partnerships and managing operational logistics, this role offers a unique opportunity to help grow a new policy institute with real-world impact.

The successful candidate is likely to have had some previous experience working in events management and/or engagement with relevant external stakeholders. Excellent event sales, planning and operational skills are essential, as is the ability to be customer-focused. This role would particularly suit someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, who thrives in a start up environment, is comfortable taking the initiative and enjoys shaping new ideas into tangible outcomes.

As the Finsbury Institute grows, the postholder will have the opportunity to help define its identity, build strategic partnerships and innovate how we engage with policy, practice and the public.

Closing date for applications:

Sunday 01 March 2026 at 11:59pm

The selection process will involve a competency-based interview with the Finsbury Institute Director and other colleagues. Further details will be confirmed at the interview stage.
