We are seeking a detail oriented and technically skilled Estimator to join a manufacturing company that supplies into the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, interpreting technical drawings, and supporting the sales and production teams to ensure projects are priced correctly and delivered efficiently. The role involves dealing with customers in the showroom and conducting measurements out on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations for products based on customer specifications, architectural drawings, and technical requirements.
• Generate accurate cost breakdowns, including materials, fabrication time, installation (if applicable), transport, and overheads.
• Liaise with internal teams-including design, production, purchasing, and sales-to gather relevant information for accurate pricing.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain current pricing for materials, hardware, and specialist components.
• Maintain and update pricing databases, cost sheets, and estimation software.
• Support sales representatives with technical advice and pricing strategies during the quotation stage.
• Prepare revised estimates as project requirements evolve.
• Meet deadlines for tender submissions and ensure all quotations are accurate and professionally presented.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within the construction industry.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, technical schedules, and specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimation or CAD based software.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Working Conditions

• Office based role with regular interaction with the sales, design, and production departments.
• Occasional site visits may be required.
