Estates Officer needed for an Immediate Start in a large Further Education provider in South Wales

Aspire People are recruiting for several Estates Officer positions on behalf of a large further education provider in South Wales. These are full-time, immediate-start opportunities based in Cardiff and Ystrad Mynach, offering varied and rewarding work within a busy educational environment.

The Role
As an Estates Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation, maintenance, security, and upkeep of the campus. The role is operational and hands-on, requiring a proactive approach and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
Duties will include:
Opening and securing buildings, including key-holding responsibilities
Carrying out security inspections and responding to site issues
Supporting general maintenance and minor repairs
Grounds maintenance and site upkeep
Moving furniture, equipment, and materials across campus
Assisting with deliveries and porterage duties
Liaising with contractors and supporting planned maintenance works
Responding to reactive maintenance requests via helpdesk systems
Monitoring health and safety standards across the site
Supporting the safe and welcoming operation of the campus environment
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
Estates or facilities management
Caretaking or site supervision
Security roles
Maintenance or building trades
Grounds maintenance
Facilities support services
The ideal candidate will be:
Practical and proactive
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Organised and able to prioritise workloads
Health and safety conscious
Confident communicating with staff, visitors, contractors, and learners
Flexible and willing to travel between sites when required
Role Details
Locations: Cardiff & Ystrad Mynach
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
Salary: £27,780 - £29,844 depending on experience
Start Date: Immediate
Enhanced DBS preferred but not essential (a new DBS can be processed if required)
