Equity Research Analyst - Latin America

Our client is a global asset manager who is looking to add analyst headcount within their Global Emerging Markets Equity team. The role will focus solely on Latin America across a range of sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Conduct analysis on Latin American companies with a view to make investment recommendations to portfolio managers for inclusion in a number of emerging market equity strategies.
2. Create and maintain financial models to help analyze company reports and accounts.
3. Develop a detailed understanding of broader macro issues in the region; evaluate economic conditions that impact companies on coverage and sectors.
4. Undertake investment trips to Latin America to attend management meetings and conferences.
5. Participate in wider investment committees, communicating investment views to portfolio managers.

Ideal Profile:

1. 2-5 years' experience as an equity analyst on the buy-side.
2. Prior coverage of Latin American companies would be ideal but not essential.
3. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese would be highly desirable.
4. CFA or working towards qualification.
5. Strong academic background.
6. Deep passion for markets, investing, and business.
7. Ability to work independently.
