Our L+P client is looking for a highly skilled Equity Release Mortgages Actuary to join their team for a 3 months initial contract .

Role Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced actuary with a strong background in equity release mortgages (ERMs) to join our actuarial team. This role will focus on the modelling, valuation, and risk management of ERM portfolios, supporting both strategic initiatives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain actuarial models for equity release mortgage portfolios, including cash flow projections, capital modelling, and stress testing.
• Support pricing and product development for new ERM offerings.
• Conduct experience analysis and assumption setting for longevity, property growth, and prepayment behaviour.
• Collaborate with finance, risk, and investment teams to ensure accurate valuation and reporting.
• Contribute to Solvency II, IFRS 17, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Provide actuarial input into strategic projects such as reinsurance, capital optimisation, and asset-liability management.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory developments affecting ERMs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
• Strong understanding of equity release mortgages, including product features, risks, and valuation techniques.
• Proficiency in actuarial modelling software (eg Prophet, Mo.NET, or equivalent).
• Experience with Solvency II and/or IFRS 17 frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
