The purpose of the Equipment Engineering Manager (d/m/f) is to support the production with the required equipment uptime and performance to reach the FAB goals: wafers out, at the right time, cost and quality and satisfy our customers and related stakeholders.

  • Full responsibility for the Equipment engineering team: inspire and motivate the team by conveying ams OSRAM leadership principles and core values, coach and assist team members with their individual development
  • Break down TMD's (Top Must Do's ) goals for the individual area
  • Drive data-based discussions to conclusion/decisions
  • Request & monitor relevant KPI's and coach the Group Managers to interpret their KPI data and define measures if required
  • Support Task Force teams with resources, steering and information flow
  • First level escalation to suppliers and internal stakeholders & first level communication revision to customers
  • Contribute to quality and customer audits and drive actions
  • Coordinate and prioritize CIP's and projects (define different types of projects: e.g. cost reduction, capacity increase, equipment robustness)
  • Ensure safe work environment
  • Apply and ensure manufacturing principles (lean), problem solving techniques (Six Sigma)
  • Improve cost of ownership of tools by optimizing Uptime, MTTR

  • Successfully completed degree (bachelor's/master's) in electrical, automation or mechatronics engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple maintenance or engineering teams, ensuring operational coverage and high performance
  • Knowledge of systems for manufacturing process, equipment stability and cost control
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and lean principles, with practical application of structured problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma
  • Clear and structured communication skills combined with prioritization and coordination skills
  • Continuous improvement orientation and high flexibility
  • Demonstrated ability to make rapid decisions in time sensitive environments
  • Proficiency in English mandatory, good German is beneficial
