Job Description Company Overview

This is a crucial role within the Teledyne-e2v RF Power Division, supporting the Equipment team to ensure RF Power equipment is maintained and repaired to high standards, ensuring safe operation and minimizing production downtime. The role involves supporting RF power functions, production teams, and engineering support by providing independent assurance and governance.

Effective communication skills are critical, with the ability to apply knowledge and skills to minimize equipment downtime.

Our Equipment Engineers operate proactively, self-motivated, and challenge norms. They work well under pressure, maintaining high attention to detail and quality, promoting growth, and enhancing the department's reputation through exceptional standards. They contribute to reducing equipment downtime and manufacturing costs.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

We seek individuals capable of maintaining, fault finding, and rebuilding processing equipment, including ovens, furnaces, and pump stations. Tasks include replacing failed heating elements, fault finding electrical control systems, and gas control cabinets.

  • Organize and prioritize workload.
  • Follow good health and safety practices.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Carry out reactive breakdown maintenance.
  • Support equipment build and calibration teams.
  • Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance.
  • Assist in sourcing spare parts and managing stock.
  • Perform basic mechanical fabrication for repairs.
  • Suggest and implement equipment improvements.
  • Support production engineers with technical advice.
  • Identify equipment needing replacement and report to Line Manager.
  • Reduce external service contracts.
  • Assist with apprentice training.
  • Work overtime when necessary to support production.
  • Provide regular updates to Line Manager.

Qualifications include BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in engineering, self-motivation, understanding of technical drawings, wiring diagrams, temperature control systems, and fault finding in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and water-cooling systems. HNC or equivalent, knowledge of PID control systems (Eurotherm), and PLC fault finding/programming (Mitsubishi) are desirable.
