Are you looking for a new challenge, passionate about the environment and want an exciting opportunity to develop your skills, as well as learn new ones and have a full driving licence? If so, our Environmental Operative vacancy may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
The successful candidate will be expected to obtain their HGV driver licence within 9 month period from commencement of employment. Any necessary training will be provided by Blackburn with Darwen Council. Further information will be provided at interview regarding this part of the role.
As an Environmental Operative you will be part of the Street Scene team responsible for helping maintain Blackburn with Darwen in a clean, green and safe condition.
To succeed as an Environmental Operative you will need to be an advocate for the Council, building good working relationships with both colleagues and customers. The candidate should also have the ability to communicate well with members of the public in a polite, professional, and friendly manner.
The hours are 37 hours per week over a five day period between Sunday - Saturday. You may also be given the opportunity to work additional hours, dependent upon the needs of the service. If you believe you can help us meet the challenges, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
