This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and busy team within the Chanelle group. We are looking for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional who will manage and drive Chanelle Pharma's EHS programme.
Reporting to the General Manager, the EHS Manager will apply strong fundamental expertise in the support of Environmental, Health and Safety compliance and continuous improvement within the company. The role of the Environment Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is wide-ranging involving a broad range of responsibilities aimed at promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Location: Based 5 days onsite at our Loughrea manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the implementation of our EHS ensuring alignment with Chanelle Pharma 'Winning Formula' strategy and continuous improvement agenda.
- Responsible for EH&S compliance audits and EHS plan across all sites.
- Maintaining and updating the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in alignment with the Standard with the objective to monitor and mitigate the environmental impact of the organization's activities.
- Responsible for Risk Management programme at company, identify and evaluate potential hazards whilst developing strategies to alleviate identified risks ensuring continuous compliance with safety protocols and standards.
- Lead team of EHS specialists ensuring ongoing growth and development of team members.
- Manage the on-site Occupational Health service, ensuring compliance with all relevant health regulations, promoting employee wellbeing, and delivering proactive health surveillance and support programs across the organisation including ergonomic issues and work environment, to create a workspace conducive to employee health and productivity.
- Lead emergency response programme ensuring regular testing of emergency plans to align with good practise and regulations.
- Represent the Chanelle group at audits and site visits by the HSA, Uisce Éireann, Insurers, Repak and customers.
- Update management in regards to EHS performance.
- Manage incident and accident reporting procedures for the Group, root cause analysis and prevention measures are in place.
- Deliver on projects and assignments as directed by the General Manager.
- Maintenance of EH&S procedures and applicable compliance requirements.
- Create and operationalise a companywide EHS training and communication plan for the group ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.
- Responsible for ensuring a DGSA compliance programme is maintained.
- Ensure Contractor safety controls are implemented and meet company guidelines.
- Participate in Chanelles Sustainability programme and Environment, Social & Governance reporting processes to meet group sustainability objectives.
- Report EH&S KPIs to Board and Senior Management.
- Minimum 8 years' experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in a Pharmaceutical/Manufacturing (GMP) environment.
- Experienced People Manager and developer of teams.
- Strong Analytical Skills, Problem-solving Skills, and Knowledge of Regulations.
- Excellent communications and influencing skills.
- Experience of safety protocols in chemical manufacturing.
- Can work independently as well as with other departments.
- Experience of project management and Chemical safety.
- Minimum Level 8 degree in a Health & Safety/ Environmental discipline essential.
- Occupational Health and Safety qualification highly desirable.
