Position Summary

The position of Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor is to assist in overseeing the organisation's Environmental, Health & Safety operations, ensuring high standards are attained, continually improved and all legal obligations are met.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Ideally, the EH&S Advisor will have knowledge of Manufacturing principles and have extensive experience operating in an Environmental, Health & Safety role. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider Environmental, Health & Safety team is key, as is experience working with Occupational Health.

Key duties are to:

  • Support the delivery of a single approach to Environmental, Health & Safety that meets the organisation's needs, statutory duties and the expectations of key stakeholders with respect to Environmental, Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
  • Further develop and deliver Environmental, Health & Safety management systems, processes, procedures and culture to ensure continual improvement and industry best practice.
  • Provide technical expertise in diverse Environmental, Health and Safety programs which may include machine safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, sustainability, biosafety and chemical management.
  • At its core EHS is about people; communicating, inspiring and motivating is the thread that runs through everything that we do.
Key Experience Requirements

Ability to proactively engage, challenge & influence colleagues to deliver Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and drive continual improvement in Environmental, Health & Safety performance.

Assuring the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and Leadership Teams, by means of appropriate monitoring and intervention, that the company's operations fulfils its obligations under Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.

To do this you will need a minimum of 5 years development in a comparable role and evidence some, or all, of the following:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • EH&S Internal Auditor (ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001)
  • Chartered member of IOSH, or actively working towards
  • Membership of ISEP, or actively working towards
